Ong Keng Sen (Singapore)

Ong Keng Sen, Artistic Director of TheatreWorks and recipient of the prestigious Fukuoka Arts & Culture Prize 2010 and the Singapore Cultural Medallion, is lauded for his contribution to the evolution of an Asian identity and aesthetic for contemporary performance in the 21st century.

In his works, he juxtaposes different art forms and cultural styles, often in collaboration with traditional/contemporary artists. In addition, he is known for his interdisciplinary approach in bringing together artists of diverse origins and practices in curatorial contexts.
