Tang Da Wu (Singapore)
Tang Da Wu was educated at Thomson Chinese Secondary School, Singapore, and worked at the People’s Association until 1969, befreo going to Birmingham College of Art in England, and later Goldsmith College of Art, University of London. As the founder of Singapore’s seminal The Artists Village and a prominent Southeast Asian performance artist, Tang is amongst the most distinguished figures of contemporary art in Singapore. A highly independent artist, Tang uses a broad array of media in tandem with locally familiar references and iconography to engage his public in a sometimes playful but always profound dialogue about society and cultural history.

How would you describe your philosophy in art making?
I enjoy seeing art, don't really want to make art. There are many interesting things in life that I would like to introduce to my audience.
